What does it mean to be homeless?

It means calling something that's not a house, a home. Your old car, a beat up RV, a pieced-together trailer, a tent, a bench... we've seen them all right here in Summerville, SC.

Steps in the Right Direction

This disabled veteran lives in his RV in local parking lots. LEAP had served him for a while when one day, his wheelchair got stuck to a vehicle which drove several blocks with the chair and man before the they detached. We got him a new, identical chair. Now, he's learning to walk on a new prosthetic leg! We continue to visit him in his RV.

The best way to help? Prayer.

LEAP prays. And prays. And prays again.

We also take this as an opportunity to get privacy-respectful photos. Identifiable faces are of volunteers.

Eternal Impacts

This couple we serve gave their lives to Christ! They were recently baptized at Gateway Community Church. They also led another homeless man to start attending church. The biggest need they, and each of us, have is a need for a Savior. They have been rescued! Their story is one of several of the salvation of our people.
